HISTORY

The Tennessee Association of Plumbing, Heating, Cooling Contractors, Inc., was founded in 1897 for the purpose of providing services to plumbing-heating-cooling contractors and the PHC industry. The TAPHCC is affiliated with the National Association of Plumbing, Heating, Cooling Contractors (NAPHCC).

The NAPHCC is 125 years old. Founded June 27, 1883, with 125 men in the Old Masonic Temple in New York City, the NAPHCC is the oldest construction trade association in America. The NAPHCC is a federation with state and local associations.

TAPHCC has a heritage of great leaders who have served on the local, state, and national levels of PHCC.  Three of its members have become PHCC National Presidents: Ben Burnette, '65-66; Gene Orr, '82-'83; and Dan Burnette, '90-'91.  The TAPHCC convention programs have won numerous design awards for best convention program, with our latest 1st place award for the 2005 Convention Program.

The TAPHCC will celebrate its 111th year at the annual convention and trade show, April 23-25, 2008, in Knoxville at the Holiday Inn Select - Downtown and new Knoxville Convention Center.  Contact the TAPHCC office by phone at (865) 531-7422 and become a part of this great tradition.
